This ivory is the most special, largest and most unique in Iran in several ways.
1- It is about 150 centimeters long, about 40 centimeters in diameter, and weighs about 11 kilos.
2- Without the slightest crack or repair, with carving up to 2 centimeters deep.
3- This ivory belongs to an adult male African elephant, and the important point is that this ivory has no arch, meaning that this elephant was young and hunted.
This ivory has a high density and compactness that allows it to be carved to this depth, which convinced the artist to do something with such delicacy and did not remove any cracks until the end.
4- The carving of the ivory surface is related to special ceremonies and the life of the Zimbabwean people, which has a cultural and ecological aspect and has been able to make this ivory more special.
In Zimbabwe itself, at the time of purchase, it was one of the most special ivory available, which an African artist had done with such delicacy, because in Africa, ivory is usually traded raw, and most of the artwork in East Asia is done on African ivory.

A similar example of this ivory with the same design and carving is kept in the British Royal Palace

And this is while this ivory is kept in the Ramsar Museum, it is larger, more special and more intact than all the gifts of sultans and important figures who have given gifts to the Pahlavi family.

And this commodity, like diamonds and gold, has a global value and price, and on the other hand, it is not smuggled.
